• New: A brand-new, unused, unread copy in perfect condition.

• Like New: An unread copy in perfect condition. Cover is intact, with no nicks or tears. Spine has no signs of creasing. Pages are clean and are not marred by notes or folds of any kind.

• Very Good: A copy that has been read or handled by a potential buyer, but remains in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.

• Good: A copy that has been read, or handled by a potential buyer, but remains in clean condition. All pages are intact, and the cover is intact except for the odd scratch. The spine may show signs of wear from sitting on a shelf. Pages are clean with no notes or highlighting of any kind.

• Acceptable: A readable copy. All pages are intact, and the cover is intact except for the odd page corner having been folded by a thoughtless potential buyer.  This category may includes advance reading copies (ARCs) and uncorrected proof copies but they will be described as such.

• Unacceptable: LBF Books will not sell any stained, or unclean copies, nor are copies missing pages or have obscured text.
